So... in real estate it's all about location, location, location... The year of 2020 has been all about stimulus, stimulus, stimulus! And this past weekend, we saw another stimulus bill... except it wasn't a bill from Congress, at all. This stimulus "package" is a series of executive orders from Trump. Since every stimulus package has a name, we are calling this one "The Trump Pump."
The "Trump Pump" is a four part stimulus package -- four executive orders -- with mandates or authority for funding across a few pain points for Americans. Our former President Madison must be rolling over in his grave at this one, considering the precedent of who "holds the purse strings" in government.
That aside, the four executive orders of "Trump Pump" focus on:
- Enhanced unemployment benefits: Up to $400/week
- Payroll Tax Deferral
- Evictions: Extend benefit
- Student Loans: Extend benefit to end of 2020
Our two cents on the payroll tax? Proceed with caution! This is not a forgiveness, it's going to give you a balloon payment on your payroll taxes and it wont be on your balance sheet until you have to pay for it!
